“Born in Schiefweg” tells the story of the emigration that took place from the Bavarian and Bohemian Forests to America in the 19th and at the beginning of the 20th century.
At the same time, Emerenz Meier’s deserved spot in the ranks of Bavarian literature is presented, as is her courage in fighting for her place in a male-dominated society.
